Post-Ticketing Fees
The following post-booking service fees may apply after your car rental reservation has been confirmed. These fees depend on factors such as rental location, vehicle category, rental duration, and supplier policies. Any applicable charges will always be disclosed before confirmation or at the time a change is requested.
1. Name Change Fee
Requests to change the primary driver’s name after booking confirmation may be subject to a name change fee. Supporting documents may be required, and approval depends on the rental provider’s terms and driver eligibility rules.
2. Rental Modification Fee
Changes made after confirmation—including pickup or return dates, locations, or vehicle category—may incur a modification service fee of up to $25. Any difference in rental price due to the modification will be charged separately.
3. Cancellations After Booking
If a confirmed reservation is canceled, cancellation charges may apply in addition to any supplier-imposed fees:
- More than 72 hours before pickup: Up to 10% of the total rental amount.
- 48–72 hours before pickup: Up to 20% of the total rental amount.
- 24–48 hours before pickup: Up to 35% of the total rental amount.
- Less than 24 hours before pickup or no-show: Up to 100% of the rental cost.
4. Additional Driver Fee
Adding an extra authorized driver may result in a daily additional driver charge, typically ranging from $10 to $15 per day. All additional drivers must meet age and license requirements.
5. Fuel Charges
Most rentals operate under a “Full-to-Full” fuel policy. Vehicles returned with less fuel than provided at pickup will incur refueling charges, often at a premium rate. Refilling the tank before return is recommended.
6. Late Return Fee
Vehicles returned after the scheduled return time may be charged late return fees or additional rental days. Charges typically range from $20 to $75 depending on delay length and supplier policy.
7. Drop-off Location Change Fee
Changing the drop-off location after booking confirmation may result in a one-way or relocation fee. The fee varies based on distance, location availability, and provider rules.
8. Toll Charges
Some vehicles include or offer toll management programs. If toll roads are used, toll fees plus an administrative charge may apply. Customers may also choose to pay tolls independently where permitted.
9. Cleaning Fees
Vehicles returned in excessively dirty condition, including interior stains, pet hair, sand, or odors, may be subject to cleaning fees typically ranging from $50 to $150 based on severity.
10. GPS & Equipment Rental Fee
Optional accessories such as GPS navigation units, child safety seats, ski racks, or Wi-Fi devices may carry additional daily charges, usually between $5 and $20 per item.
11. Car Rental Insurance Coverage Fee
Optional coverage such as Collision Damage Waiver (CDW), Theft Protection, Supplemental Liability Insurance, or Personal Accident Insurance is available at an extra cost. Rates vary by location and coverage type.
12. Payment Processing Fee
Certain payment methods—including international cards or currency conversions—may incur processing fees of up to 3%. These fees will be displayed during checkout or communicated before payment is completed.
13. Special Request Fee
Special vehicle requests such as convertibles, SUVs, all-wheel drive vehicles, or specific features may result in additional charges. Special requests are subject to availability and are not guaranteed.
14. Excess Mileage Charges
Some rentals include mileage limits. If the allowed mileage is exceeded, excess mileage charges may apply on a per-mile basis, as outlined in your rental agreement.
15. Lost or Damaged Keys Fee
Lost, damaged, or unreturned keys may result in replacement or reprogramming charges. Fees vary based on vehicle type and key technology.
